It is so hard to believe that these little cupcakes are a whole year old. I remember the day I first met them. They were as tiny as could be, with the most precious 20 toes in tow. Every now and again, they would open their big baby blues to try to connect to the world around them, give a soft coo, and quickly fall back to sleep. Breathtakingly gorgeous newborns. Now, Everett is walking, and Brynn isn’t far behind. They love cuddling, reading books, and most of all—playing in the curtains! Any curtains! They don’t discriminate!
If any of you have wondered what it is like to have twins, I am here to tell you that it is NOT easy. First of all, there’s two of EVERYTHING…except there is no additional set of parents to manage it all. Sure, parents can approach it with the “divide and conquer” mentality, but then, that leaves no time for said parents to have time as a couple. Of course, the parents could prioritize themselves as a couple, but then, dem babies would sure be a-cryin’. It’s difficult.
But guess what? There might be double the trouble, but there is easily as much (if not more) joy! Imagine when parents of twins get TWO giggles or TWO snuggles or TWO sweet kisses. I think my heart would just burst! You get TWO sets of eyes looking up to you and TWO pairs of hands wanting to help and TWO different personalities and TWO sets of interests and when you put it that way, MAN, that life seems RICH. So RICH. And you know who is reaping all of the rewards? Ashley and Mike, parents to Brynn and Everett. They make it look EASY and FUN! I’m so thrilled that they brought me along for this fantastic ride!
